Every year, FIU Athletic Training recognizes students and faculty who have gone above and beyond, demonstrating a variety of admirable and inspiring traits.

Academic Excellence

The Academic Excellence award is presented to the student who demonstrates a strong dedication to learning and achieves the highest GPA in the graduating class. The student presented with this award is hardworking, enthusiastic, willing to learn and dedicated to professional growth.

 Golden Scissors

The Golden Scissors award is presented to the student who demonstrates hard work and a positive attitude both in the classroom and clinical setting. The student presented with this award supersedes expectations, acquiring the respect and admiration of fellow students and faculty.

Faculty Spirit

The Faculty Spirit award is presented to the student who demonstrates the attributes and abilities that best exemplify the values and professional ideals of the FIU Athletic Training program faculty. The student presented with this award is always willing to volunteer, consistently promotes professional behavior and has the ability to overcome adversity.

Preceptor of the Year

The Preceptor of the Year is a recognition in which athletic training students nominate and vote for a preceptor who demonstrates superior clinical instruction.

Alumni of the Year

2017 Winner: Frank Millan, Class of 2008 – Athletic Trainer, Hialeah Gardens Senior High School & Adjunct Faculty in the FIU Athletic Training Program

Student Mentor of the Year
